Revolve (9th Grade Poetry)
[This was a poem that I wrote in 9th grade, which continues to resonate with me.
Revolve
Bustling streets full of lives unknown
She wonders if they ever feel alone . . .
They could have been criminals in their past life
While everyone is sleepling, they stroll the city at night
Walking around in a body chosen specifically
Inquiring if they sometimes act artificially
Questioning if she should let out a smile
To transfer a sense of contentment for a short while
Opneing her lips to reveal genuine happiness
But in return she receives faces both dark and depressed
The smile that once existed diminishes abruptly
And now the girl wonders if they are living their lives fully
What if a plane with their loved one aboard suddenly crashed?
Or if tommorow they themselves received a fatal rash? ![]()
The girl ponders why time is treated like no big deal
For life is spontaneous, a continuous turning wheel
