In Between Image
Dear Juno,
I am writing to offer you an apology, and seek your friendship. I know that we have not gotten along so well in the past, but I want to make things better. I think that different interests have split us in the past. For some reason, you have a hate for the Trojan people, and want to see them ruined. Perhaps you fear the future of Carthage, but I still question whether your hate is justified. Yet, I also realize that my intentions have not been the most innocent. I love my son, and must admit that my biased towards him may have blurred my perception of right and wrong. There are occasions where I even disguised myself to travel down and see Aeneas, which I am not proud of. But I want to put our differences in the past. We are goddesses, and the way which we have acted towards one another is barbaric. I know that I deceived Dido, and that I am partly responsible for your troubles, and writing this letter has been hard for me. Yet, I think accepting this responsibility is a big step. It is one thing to have power and manipulate people; power is common among the gods. However, real acheivement is using your power to do what is right. I think that we could start a great friendship, and perhaps rule together in the future. I hope that you feel comfortable enough to talk openly to me, and thank you for spending your valuable time to read this.
Sincerely,
Venus
