confederate flag

March 4th, 2008 by mmoulton

Drew Bonus and Steve McVeigh The confederate battle flag came to war To defend the slavery that it stood for The flag backed hate and freedom for some It chased down others and left them undone The flag waved on beside the burning cross Scaring more the ones already lost The white mans hate continued to feed On their prey, on their strength and steed Chorus: All of this hate is bringing thunder It’s got me in a haze, runnin for cover, But still I see no changes, People flying hate, about a war already lost Look what that damn flag has already cost So I know, its up to us to make the fear disappear So brothers where we gonna go from here How are we gonna fix this concentrated mess That has brought this damn country so much stress the stars and bars has evolved into a sign of deadly hate that plagues our crazed minds so tell me brothers where we gonna go from here where we gonna, where we gonna, where we gonna, go, go, go from here?? The flag is flown by the ku klux klan The men of white with dirty hands Their pointed hats and unloved cloaks Are caked with dirt that they boast The Ku Klux Klan bleeds blood of hate They fly the flag of a confederate state Saint Andrews Cross blows in the breeze Alongside people lynched from trees

The Iraq War

February 25th, 2008 by mmoulton

By Aaron, Drew, and Tyler

A; I’m tired of the Iraq War
Its time to step through the door
The people care but the House isn’t listening
It’s like we’re not even existing

CHORUS Oh can’t they see this just isn’t right
It’s not fair to kill without a fight
Poverty, warfare, and mistreating the citizens
Just another reason to get rid of him.

We are starving a bunch of people that aren’t involved in this
What do you think of this injustice
How would you like it if was your life
Being wasted for a pointless, meaningless fight

CHORUS Oh can’t they see this just isn’t right
It’s not fair to kill without a fight
Poverty, warfare, and mistreating the citizens
Just another reason to get rid of him.

It is against our virtue and the ways of god
It’s time for a change
Send in the peace squad.
We must follow our hearts and what we believe in
Reconciliation; one movement over the nation
OOOOHHHHHHH.

CHORUS Oh can’t they see this just isn’t right
It’s not fair to kill without a fight
Poverty, warfare, and mistreating the citizens
Just another reason for all to start listening.

Reaction to 9/11

February 25th, 2008 by mmoulton

By Madeline, Morgan and Ben

Throughout the world, there is no sound. Three planes, two buildings crash to the ground.

Chorus: All we do is hate, we all choose to discriminate. Our whole world is filled with lies, we have to stop now before it ruins our lives

60 countries feeling the pain, makes their families go insane.

mothers and fathers will never come home. Their children are now left all alone

Chorus x2

Tens of thousands of flags hung at half mast, as hard as people try they can never erase the past

Followed by war, many more die. Its impossible to explain, why should i even try

Chorus x2

They are hated for the color of their skin, it is impossible, no one will ever win. World is in a bind, all we do is fight. Children left crying night after night. Fathers away in a far away land. They will come back but the war will never end.

Torture

February 25th, 2008 by mmoulton

By Brendan and Ethan

Why do we hurt each other?

Why do we attack our brother?

No, that just aint right.

We hear the crys, but we do not halt.

Causing all this pain, we are at fault.

No, That just aint right.

(Chorus) x2

Torture, yeah its so cruel.

Torture, no it's not cool.

Torture, think we're on top.

Torture, it needs to stop.

Information, but at what cost?

All this evil, our souls are lost.

No, that just aint right.

These sins we commit are just wrong.

This war we're fighting, it's to long.

(Chorus) x2

Torture, no it's not cool.

Torture, think we're on top.

Torture, it needs to stop

Verse 1
Let the light speak
Don’t let them fool you
Your heart, your body, your soul, your mind
Chose your answer and you will find
That god is on your side

Chorus
No one can tell you to kill
It’ your own free will
Life or death it’s up to you
It’s what’s in your heart
It’s what you chose
Don’t let the thoughts of others weigh you down
Don’t let their opinions suppress you to the ground
Stand up. It’s your choice.
Don’t let them take your voice.

Verse 2
A mistake that took your fate
Learned the consequences a bit too late
Now it’s time to not regret
What’s done is done, now do your best
To make it through, struggle through, try to make it work

Chorus
No one can tell you to kill
It’ your own free will
Life or death it’s up to you
It’s what’s in your heart
It’s what you chose

There’s a life inside
A spark you can’t deny
Another being which you can’t hide
It’s time to decide
No more living a lie

No one can tell you to kill
It’ your own free will

Homosexual Civil Rights

February 25th, 2008 by mmoulton

By Blair and Eliza

Opening
Everyone should be treated equally
Whether homosexual, straight, or bisexual
We’re all the same

Verse
Everyone has civil rights
People kill everyday just in spite
Of how they are perceived not what they can achieve
Homo’s and bisexuals are no different than us
Were all in relationships with people that we trust

Chorus
Homosexuals suffer severe discrimination
Not treated equally nor given proper education
People deserve respect whatever relation their in
Cause Quakers believe that there is a g-d within

Verse
Everyone has a choice
To love who they want and speak their own voice
Some rights are limited to specific people and certain kinds
Instead of being narrow-minded, we should open up the blinds

Chorus
Homosexuals suffer severe discrimination
Not treated equally nor given proper education
People deserve respect no matter what relationship they are in
Because Quaker s believe that there is a g-d within

Bridge (x2)
Relationships are about growth of love
Trusting and caring for each other
Relationships are not to be judged
Trusting and caring for each other

Chorus
Homosexuals suffer severe discrimination
Not treated equally nor given proper education
People deserve respect no matter what relationship they are in
Because Quakers believe that there is a g-d within

Human Rights/Patriot Act

February 25th, 2008 by mmoulton

Brian and Drew L.

The towers went down and people sought justice.

Terrorists were to blame, so the army went missing.

Osama slipped through the cracks, we couldn't answer

They said the constitution needed a change

If all people are to be the same,

Why do we torture and spy on just a few?

The founding fathers sure look ashamed,

when they saw the Patriot Act by George W.

Now they search without warrants, violates our rights.

Privacy is sacrificed

We lead this war, with no end in our sights,

Because tapping our lives pays a price

If all people are supposed to be treated the same,

Why do we torture and spy on just a few?

The founding fathers would be ashamed,

If they saw the Patriot Act by George W.

If the Act can’t help us, what can?

Torture and fear is just not the way

To end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

If rights are universal, this would end today.

Injustice and fear pervade the world…

If all people are supposed to be treated the same,

Why do we torture and spy on just a few?

The founding fathers would be ashamed,

If they saw the Patriot Act by George W.

If all people are supposed to be treated the same,

Why do we torture and spy on just a few?

The founding fathers would be ashamed

Death Penalty

February 25th, 2008 by mmoulton

by Nikki and Saudiah

(hook)

No no no more death row 3x

No more death row

(Verse)

It’s the lords prayer to stay on the humble

But we’re only humans hell forgive our troubles

But I cant forget man decides life or death

When death row cases putting cities in debt

Cost 2 mill to put this man to rest

but he can’t rest in peace without any justice

and they say the truth shall set you free

but wealth is the only way from the death penalty

(Chorus)

They put a tag on his life (guilty or not)

Death is the price (wrong or right)

They don’t care 2 cents if it’s (truth or lie)

All they know is someone committed a crime

(Verse 2)

They put him in a cage now he has a reason to sing

Robbed of his freedom cuz they said that it change

But he gonna be robbed of his life for a crime

Sittin in a cell goin crazy inside

His life is in the hands of the man

So he put his soul in the lords palm

As his backup plan

Cause good lawyers don’t come for free

And wealth is the only way from the death penalty

(hook)

No no no more death row 3x

No more death row

Slavery

May 29th, 2007 by mmoulton

Ray Bailey and Michael Casimir

These are the reasons why we are aginst the traffic of men-body, as followeth:

There is a saying, that we should do to all men
like as we will be done ourselves;
making no difference of what generation, descent, or color they are.

And those who steal or rob men,
and those who buy or purchase them,
are they not all alike?

Here is liberty of conscience,
which is right and reasonable;
here ought to be likewise liberty of the body,
except of evildoers.

If once these slaves
(which they say are so wicked and stubborn men)
should join themselves fight for their freedom,
and handle their masters and mistresses,
as they did handle them before;
will these masters and mistresses take the sword at hand
and war against these poor slaves, like, as we are able to believe,
some will not refuse to do?

To the end we shall be satisfied on this point,
and satisfy likewise our good friends and acquaintances
in our native country, to whom it is a terror,
or fearful thing, that men should be handled so
in Pennsylvania.
