Wow! There must be a traffic jam in the locker rooms this time of year. A half century ago, things were a lot less complex. We had no field hockey or girls soccer because we had no girls. We had no water polo of either variety because we had no pool. We had no cross country because — I imagine — nobody thought of it. And we had no fall tennis because it was exclusively a spring sport. All we had were football and soccer. Period. There are now more fall sports captains at PC than there were varsity football players at GA in the mid-’50s. They used to dress soccer players in football outfits so they’d have more uniformed guys on the sidelines. I’ll bet they’d deny it now, but it was true. I was there. Have a great season, guys — all 23 of you!
